The other side of the coin!
Hi everyone,
On the second
week of class I decided to write a posting about the benefits of the organic
food versus non-organic food. That paragraph was written according to the
article "Is organic food healthier
than non-organic food?" published in the New York Times newspaper on
Monday September 03, 2012. The main idea of the article was that organic foods
were not healthier than non- organic foods because fruits and vegetables
labeled like organic did not contain higher levels of vitamins than the
conventional food. Well, today I want to show you the other side of the coin!
In accordance with the article “Going
organic: what is the payoff?” published in the Nutrition Action magazine on
October 2012. The article states that organic food has higher levels of some
nutrients than non-organic food because fruits and vegetables labeled organic
do not contain chemicals or contaminants that are present in the conventional
food. Therefore, the levels of vitamins and minerals are preserved in the organic
foods. In conclusion, although the costumers are the only ones who make the
decision about what they want to buy and how much they want to pay, they must
be informed about organic and non-organic food to make smart choices in the
market of food.
This is the magazine that Ray lent me to write the present posting.
