Mongolian Hot Pot

Hi everyone,

I want to share with you what I did on Friday night to practice my English and have a very good time with my friends.

After class ended at the University Van, Hilbert, Anna, Florida, Riko, and I decided to go out for dinner because we wanted to share a good moment together before we begin our final exams scheduled for the next week. Then, Florida led us to an amazing restaurant named the Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot which is located at 2543 Warden Ave in the district of Scarborough, Ontario. When we arrived at the restaurant even though there were a lot of people at the waiting area talking and waiting for a table, we did not have to wait there because we had a dinner reservation. Then, the waiter guided us through the dining room until our table in the corner of the restaurant. The place was amazing for two main characteristics that I observed. The first one, Little Sheep presents the restaurant as another social dining option available to consumers and neighborhoods. Whether, if you are looking for a casual lunch or a wine-filled evening the restaurant will provide the atmosphere that you are looking for. The second one, the food is high quality because all meats are sliced and served fresh in order to retain the freshness and original texture of each ingredient. Then in our table, we decided to order four original hot pot soups for Hilbert, Anna, Florida and me, and two spicy original hot pot soups for Riko and Van. Then my classmate and friend Florida told me that I had to select from a wide range of veggies, mushroom, dumplings, tofu, noodles, calamari, shrimp, and many other options of food located in the main shelf of the restaurant. Therefore, I took my plate and walked behind Florida in order to serve my food.  The funny thing was that I didn't know that I had to cook my own food, so I took and combined seafood, lobster, shrimp, vegetables, with slices of peaches, and pineapple in the same dish. When Anna saw my combination of food she said, “Oh what did you choose”, and Florida said “It is ok” we can fix your selection. Then she explained me that I have to cook the selections in my hot pot right on the table. She said that sliced meats and seafood may only take a few seconds of cooking to reach the perfect texture. While other items such as meatballs, mushrooms, and noodles may stay in the pot for a few minutes to absorb the flavors of the broth while tenderizing from the heat. I was so excited to cook my own food in the table and serve directly in my dish that I dropped down a piece of fish on my legs. It was so funny! Before we started to eat I took different pictures of the dishes to share with you guys. It was a great experience to practice my English, share with my classmates, and knew a different place.

Definitely, I recommend Little Sheep because the food and drinks were high quality; the friendliness of staff was great, the atmosphere of restaurant unique, and the speed of service reasonable.
