Women Of
Changes
There have been many of changes for
women in Saudi Arabia, before 100 years for three reasons. First, there have
been changes in education. In the past, women did not know reading and writing,
so they could not work every things because they were ignorant, and also they
did not know to use technology. In addition, there were not many schools for women.
Second, there have been changes in working. In 1930, women worked anywhere, and
they worked inside to home and outside to home. Also, they worked many hours in
the day. For example, some women worked plowing in farm, sheep run, and house
wife without hard work. Woman's work is more than a man because the man has
traveled a lot of jobs. Now, woman is a doctor, a teacher, and a engineer. Finally, there have been changes
in thinking. Thinking of women in the past, it was simple, limited, and actual .
Also, their dreams were small, and it depended their lives and of the lives of
their children. Thinking was comfortable about life because life was easy.
After 100 years, life begins different and difficult, so women carefully think
when they want to plan in tomorrow, and also they are wisely thinking when they
want to solve problems.
I think it is similar to my country. In the past, the woman were not respected by people in society, and women didn't have enough knowledge,so they just stayed at home. But nowadays, the woman become more and more important.Even some workplaces need women employees only. It is a progressive phenomenon.
ReplyDeleteIt is obvious that the status of female is improving gradually, and women have more chances to get good education and jobs. Therefore, female should get any opportunity to achieve their dreams, and believe that female is equal to male.
DeleteIn my country, I think almost similar to your country. Women can get any kind of jobs. Some women can also get a high position in the government. However, I think when women get jobs, they don't want to get married, so Japan has a problem with decreasing children.
ReplyDeleteThis seems to be the same in almost all the counties. Actually, in japan I feel women are stronger than men. Because the men are not so energetic, there is a word that expresses men like that. It is "plant-eating-animal kind of men". that kinds of animals like Impalas are just eaten by carnivorous like lions.
ReplyDeleteTo express quiet men in japan, this word was made, but I am against this word. the animals are so fast that they can run away from carnivorous. They are strong enough.
Hi everyone,
ReplyDeleteIn reference with Weydan’s article, I want to explain how the women’s role in my country Colombia has changed since 1991.
Colombia is more egalitarian today with regard to gender issues that it has ever been. Since the promulgation of the Constitution of 1991 and the reforms made, women’s roles in Colombia have changed. Educated women are entering the fields of politics, law, medicine, and business in increasing numbers. As more women have entered higher paying jobs and prominent positions in society, the role of “machismo” (machismo refers to the assumption that masculinity is superior to femininity) is weakening in urban centers, although it remains strong in rural region. Because education has been one of main factors to change the women’s roles in the country, the Colombian Constitution accords equal rights to education. However, rural women have less access to education than men. The protection of women's legal rights has been the second factor to change the women’s roles in the country. Since the Constitution of Colombia guarantees equal rights and protection to all citizens irrespective of gender, women have the right to vote, to pursue higher education, and to independently property. The socio economic conditions and internal conflict in Colombia have been the third factor to change the women’s roles in the country. In conclusion, the conservative Colombian culture’s concept of “machismo” relegates women to the traditional role of homemakers, and it remains true that women, especially those from the lower classes in rural areas, still face many obstacles in trying to expand their horizons. Despite these pressures, however, Colombian women have made great strides in recent years.
