Frida Kahlo----a great artist who has a legendary life

I am going to introduce one of my favorite artists to you this week. She was a great  Mexican painter  who is famous by her self-portraits. She is Frida Kahlo who had a suffering life, but  still became a successful person.

When she was six years old, Frida contracted polio, which caused her right leg to be much thinner than the other.However, she didn't treat herself as a abnormal person, and still live like others. Unluckily, a serious traffic accident happened to her when she was a teenager, and it made her suffered lifelong health problems. During her temporary immobilization, every doctor told her that she wouldn't able to recover.At that time, she thought she had to lied on the bed for rest of her life, so she started painting herself on the bed,she said:"I paint myself because I am so often alone and because I am the subject I know best"( Frida Kahlo).

  It was so surprised that her body recovered by itself few years later, and she began a new life. She was married to another famous artist named Diego Rivera, and her painting career was influenced a lot by him. However, she cannot had baby after the accident and she felt so guilty that she expressed her feeling of sadness by painting. It  also made her artworks filled of special feelings and meanings.Unfortunately,her husband had affair with her sister for few years after they married .She was totally despairing when she found it so she can only lived by painting. As a result, her miserable life trained her to become a splendid artist.By the way, I recommend you to see the Art exhibition of Frida which hold on Toronto recently and the movie named "FRIDA" which depicts life of this outstanding painter, and I hope you will enjoy it!
